Abbey Lee, a native of Melbourne, Australia, grew up dreaming of working with animals. After being spotted on the beach by a top Sydney modeling agent, Abbey entered a teenage model search and won. Her star has since shot into the international spotlight.
Abbey’s big break came when she met legendary photographer Mario Testino just a week after arriving in New York. Testino immediately booked her for the D&G campaign. Following her first shoot, Abbey had a stellar runway debut season, walking for Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Balmain, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Valentino, and exclusively for Gucci in Milan. Abbey was named a top newcomer for the Fall 2008 season by both WWD and Style.com.
Since her career began, Abbey has graced the covers of i-D, Russian Vogue, German Vogue, Japanese Vogue,
Australian Vogue, Korean Vogue, i-D, Pop, V, Muse, Dazed & Confused, Numéro, Numéro Korea, 25 Magazine, and The Journal. She has appeared in
editorial stories for virtually all of the world’s top fashion
magazines including the American, French, Italian, and
Chinese editions of Vogue; W, Harper’s Bazaar, Purple,
The Last Magazine, Allure, Vanity Fair, and Interview.
Abbey has been featured in advertisements for the likes
of Gucci, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Versace, Tom Ford,
Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Alexander Wang, Anna Sui,
Mulberry and Rag & Bone. Abbey is currently the face of
the Gucci fragrance Flora, Fendi’s Fan di Fendi, and the
Versace fragrance Yellow Diamond. In 2008 and 2009,
Abbey walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret’s annual fashion shows. Abbey has made two appearances in the
exclusive Pirelli calendar, photographed by Karl
Lagerfeld for the 2011 calendar, and by Terry
Richardson
for Pirelli’s 2010 edition. She is currently named as one of Models.com's "Industry Icons".
