South Korean model-turned-actor Hoyeon received international recognition and critical acclaim after the global success of the Netflix original series, Squid Game, in which she played Kang Sae-byeok, also known as Player 067. For her breakout performance, she won the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Originally from Seoul, Hoyeon made her international modeling debut in 2016, landing an exclusive contract with Louis Vuitton. Since then, she has starred in campaigns and walked the runway for top designers like Chanel, Fendi, and Miu Miu among others. She has also been featured in numerous fashion magazines, including international editions of Vogue, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, W, and V. In February 2022, Hoyeon became the first South Korean to have a solo cover for US Vogue. She currently serves as a Global Ambassador for both Louis Vuitton and Adidas, and in 2023, she became the new face of Lancôme.
Hoyeon can be seen in Alfonso Cuarón’s psychological thriller series Disclaimer for Apple TV+, starring alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. She also recently wrapped production on the Korean feature film Hope, directed by the renowned Na Hong-Jin.
